Overview: Water CoP
Earth observations include measurement and monitoring of the Earth under water, and water quality. Earth observations measure and monitor conditions that effect the condition quality and quantity of the water resource. Data is gathered via remote sensing technologies including satellite sensors and airborne sensors, as well as in situ data collection systems such as weather station networks. Observations support modelling and other tools that create information for water resourced decision-making.
Community contributions and activities
- Joint activities for developing operational Earth observations-based water management information and monitoring systems;
- Access to and involvement with the international Earth observations water management community through GEO activities; and
- Coordination and discussion on best practices and standards for using Earth observations in water management and monitoring.
- Review of the Use of EO for water resources management
