The Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS) is a global, flexible network of content providers allowing decision-makers to access an extensive range of information. GEOSS relies on the systems that are sources of Earth observations data, information and services being discovered and accessed by users.
The nine GEO societal benefit areas are recognised internationally as critical to people and society in addressing environmental challenges and putting in place measures to mitigate natural and human-induced disasters.
These are disasters, health, energy, climate, water, weather, ecosystems, agriculture and biodiversity.
